• Apple has been issuing these alerts since 2021 — the primary targets are typically journalists, activists, and diplomats.
• These attacks cost millions of dollars to execute, making ordinary users unlikely targets.
• Fake phishing messages may also impersonate these alerts — verify directly in Settings and do not click links inside emails.
