Meta Releases Muse Code — AI Coding Agent Competing Directly with Claude Code and Codex

Meta has just released Muse Code (Beta version), an AI agent for coding that runs on the terminal using the new Muse Spark 1.2 model. It is designed for large code projects.

• Muse Code can plan, write code, and verify results on its own
• Features a background agent running continuously without needing to restart for every task
• Maintains a local event log — if the computer shuts down, it can resume work right where it left off
• Meta tested it running for over 24 hours with more than 1,000 tool calls
• Installable on macOS and Linux, but the model is not yet open for download (relies on Meta’s servers)
