Valve, the owner of Steam, is sending warning emails to customers in Europe. Hackers breached logistics partner CEVA Logistics and stole information belonging to Steam hardware buyers.

• What was leaked: Name, address, phone number, email, and prices of items purchased
• Steam passwords, Steam Guard codes, and payment card information were not leaked
• Valve warns that scammers may send fake SMS messages pretending to be Steam asking for additional shipping fees
[Insight: Scammers may read out your home address to prove they are real. Someone knowing your information does not automatically make them a legitimate company. Asking for a small payment as a “customs fee” — that is a scam.]
